Volunteering is no longer a simple act of altruism.
Transcord provide the administrative and co-ordination facilities to allow people in the community to assist each other. Transcord also provide learning and training, as well as means of communication necessary to comply with modern regulations. Client safety and protection are paramount.
As a volunteer driver of dialysis patients, I thank Transcord for providing the structure that allows me the opportunity and privilege to assist people at a time of need.

For nine years now I have enjoyed being a volunteer driver for Transcord for a variety of reasons. I do not wish to be idle and I enjoy driving and meeting people in the course of the days driving. My name is Mick & I have been a volunteer driver for Transcord for the last 4 years & before that I volunteered for 12 years with central coast N.S.W. community transport & in my experience with the job comes a lot of gratification from the clients & there carers & traveling all over the place gives you a good look at what goes on in the local area that you travel as we cover a wide area of the coast & you seem to gather a lot of experience and knowledge from the people you transport from place to place & you meet plenty of interesting people on the way, so if you are bored in your retirement & feel you need something in your life to for fill contact Transcord & get on board..

Volunteering for Transcord gives those who can… the chance to do important things for those who can’t.
A simple hand down the stairs, an arm to steady the steps to the doctors, bringing in the bins or making an extra stop to pick up milk…. These little things are so hard for sum, they sincerely appreciate when our volunteers step up.
It doesn’t take much but the grateful smile says it is totally worthwhile giving your time as a volunteer.
